What is your icing?

I chose to name my blog the icing on my cake because I like the idiom. "A second great thing occurs after the first". I like to measure my life by the amazing moments. There are so many joys in life that we tend to forget or leave behind when a devastation or let down falls into our lap. Why is that? Maybe it is our culture or human instinct. We let it consume our lives in every way. We must not forget the happiness in our lives because that is what positively drives our lives. Negativity does not lead to happiness and success in one's relationships with others. I know that it is extremely difficult to be positive in the midst of sadness and anger, but we must not let it control and become us. If we do, we push away those that love us and fall deeper into the black hole of despair.

I tend to be drawn to those that choose to define their lives by elation rather than desperation. I believe this is because I am someone who looks at the positive side of everything. Why spend your life in misery and guilt? Doing so will only lead you down the wrong path. At least I believe so.

I wanted to share a cake that I made over the summer. It was a wedding cake for a two very special people. Not only were they marrying someone that they loved but they were marrying their best friend, the icing on the cake! Thank you Mel and Jon for letting me be a part of your special day.

Well here is the cake!

Tier 2: White cake with raspberry filling and white chocolate butter cream frosting
